The reducer is similar to the End Cap, this transition piece is sloped on one side, essentially tapering off the floor as opposed to capping it. This piece is used for any transition where the two floors are not even with each other: laminate-to-tile/ wood/ laminate/ etc, where one floor sits higher than the other.
