For wide stairs, reposition and repeat procedure. Powerful 12 to 1 leverage makes stretching easy. Tool is 19" wide with 14 pins evenly spaced over a 16" pin plate. The maximum stretched dimension from the wood tail to the forward-most pin is 10", or 9" when the tool is reconfigured for a narrow depth tread. Maximum stretch is 7/8".
