Slide hammer electrode fitted with contact pins (no. 496) that penetrate 1 ⅛'' and are Teflon® insulated. The pins make contact with wood fibers only at their uninsulated tips and provide much more accurate readings of moisture content at various levels of penetration. This feature is useful for dry kiln/sawmill personnel to identify moisture gradients which are critical to quality drying. Also useful for wood flooring installers and inspectors at installation and inspection or troubleshooting. Furniture manufacturers and craftsmen can easily check high density wood that short pins are unable to penetrate.
